The Mormon Immigrant Trail Ride is a historical 4X4 vehicle run along the Mormon Immigrant Trail. The guided trip includes and an information booklet and is narrated by CB. This trip follows closely follows the trek the Mormons took on their return trip from California to Salt Lake City in 1853 after fighting the war with Mexico.
The trip begins in Placerville at the shopping center parking lot on upper Broadway. Exit Hwy 50 at the Schnell School road exit. The shopping center is on the south side of the freeway across the street from the Waffle Shop Restaurant on upper Broadway.
Bring camera, film, chair, lunch, water, drinks, field glasses. Make sure you have a full tank of gas at the start as it will be an all day event. There will be no fuel stops available on the adventure. Several rest stops will be available, including a lunch stop at noon.
Four wheel drive is required for this trip, which is Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) friendly. Difficult places will have a guide service, though most of the trip will be held on forest service roads as well as paved roads. Some rocks and mud will be on the off-road portions. Weather is generally 80 to 100 degrees. While most of the trip takes place at 4,000 feet, travel extends to 8,000 feet elevation, it is recommended you pack cold weather gear as well as plent of water. There is a twenty vehicle limit on the trip.
